Report of USB Encoder No Longer Recognized by Computer After Windows Update.

Reports have been issued stating that the USB encoder is no longer recognized by Windows 7 and Windows 8 systems after an automatic Windows Update completes. BeLine engineers have concluded that a USB driver included in the Windows Update is an error, thus the wrong driver is loaded by Windows after the computer restarts. The error causes the Door Lock Security System to default to demo mode.

STEPS TO RESOLUTION

1) email info@belinelocks.com and request for the USB driver for your encoder. Provide the version number of your software. You may already have this driver.
2) Go to the Windows Control Panel.
3) Go to System in the Control Panel.
4) Go to Device Manager.
5) Scroll to the bottom of the list to Universal Serial Bus Controllers and click on the small arrow to the left of the name Universal Serial Bus Controllers to expand the view of connected USB devices.
6) Unplug and then plug in the USB encoder. You will see the list of plugged in USB devices update with the name of the driver that Windows loads when the USB encoder is plugged in. Write down the name of this driver being loaded. The proper name of the USB driver should be named "USB Express". Reports state that another driver is being loaded which is causing the Door Security System Software not to recognize the USB encoder. The name of the wrong driver being loaded is GRGBanking CAM8340 NV001. If a differnt driver is loading on your system, identify the name of the erroneous driver and email the name of that driver to info@belinelocks.com.
7) Right click on the name of the erroneous driver that is loaded and go to Update Driver Software.
8) Go to, Browse My Computer for Driver Software.
9) Go to, Let Me Pick From a List of Device Drivers on my Computer.
10) At the top of the list click on Show All Devices.
11) Click on Have Disk.
12) Click on Browse and go to the file folder of BeLine's USB Encoder Driver.
13) Click on SiUSBXp, which is the file that contains BeLine's USB Encoder installation information.
14) Click on OK to Install from Disk.
15) You will then see USBXpress Device in the list of models. Double click on USBXpress Device to install it.
16) If the Device Driver Warning pops up, click Yes to continue installing the BeLine driver.
17) Restart your computer with the USB encoder plugged in then start the software to verify that the lock software starts with the USB encoder being detected.
